API pricing & payment update

New API pricing starting1 September.

Review the updated usage tiers and plan your credit balance before billable usage moves from automatic card payments to prepaid billing.

Dear Customer,

First and foremost, thank you for believing in us and choosing our platform. Your trust, feedback, and continued usage have played an important role in helping us grow and improve.

When we launched the platform in August 2024, we offered API usage completely free during the first year to help developers, startups, and businesses build and scale their applications. In the second year, we continued to provide a substantial monthly free allowance for each API.

As a platform built in India, we are proud to support our customers with reliable, accessible, and high-quality digital infrastructure.

As we enter the next phase of our journey, we’re updating our API usage tiers, pricing, and payment model. These changes will take effect on 1 September 2026.

We are committed to providing clear guidance and dedicated support to make the transition as smooth as possible.

01Who will be affected

Standard self-service customers.

These changes apply to all customers on our standard, self-service platform plans, including customers currently using automatic card payments.

Contractual customers will not be affected by these changes for the duration of their existing contracts.

02What is changing

From automatic billing to prepaid credits.

From 1 September 2026, the following changes will apply to your account.

Important: Ola Maps prepaid credits are separate from your Krutrim credit balance. Credits in one balance will not appear in or pay for usage from the other.

Updated usage tiers

Revised API usage tiers, pricing, and applicable discounts will come into effect.

Prepaid credits

Add Ola Maps credits based on your expected API usage instead of paying through automatic card billing.

Separate from Krutrim credit balance

Ola Maps prepaid credits use a separate balance and are not linked to your Krutrim credit balance.

Usage-based deductions

Billable API usage will be deducted from your credit balance according to the applicable API and pricing tier.

Free tier stays accessible

You will not need a credit balance while your usage remains within the applicable free-tier allowance.

Final card settlement

Registered cards will cover usage incurred through 31 August 2026 under the existing billing cycle.

Auto-debit will end

After the August payment is settled, auto-debit will be disabled and further billable usage will use prepaid credits.

Add credits from 1 September 2026.

Your credit balance may become negative without service interruption during the grace period. Please add credits before 8 September 2026 and maintain a sufficient balance for expected usage beyond the free tier.

03Card billing transition

How existing card billing will end.

Customers with a registered card will complete one final settlement before future billable usage moves to prepaid credits.

Existing payment arrangement

API usage continues under the existing pricing and card-payment arrangement.

Final settlement

August usage auto-debit

The final payment for usage through 31 August is processed according to the existing billing cycle.

1–8 Sep

Prepaid credits begin

Billable usage moves to prepaid credits, with a negative credit balance allowed temporarily without service interruption.

After 8 Sep

Grace period ends

Maintain a sufficient credit balance for usage beyond the free tier to help keep API access uninterrupted.

Once the final August 2026 payment is settled, no further API usage charges will be automatically deducted from registered cards.
